Greg started out airbrushing in 1994, at Bills Flea Market in Virginia Beach, Virginia, under the store name of 21st Century Airbrushing. He quickly gained recognition as one of the top airbrush artists on the East Coast. Within a year, Greg opened up his first of three airbrush stores. Greg has completed work for celebrities such as Heavyweight Champ Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones Jr. and Derrick Smoke Gainer. Greg has also had his artwork autographed by Freddie Jackson, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Mark Brunell (QB Jaguars) and Keenan McCardell (WR Jaguars), just to name a few. Greg’s and his wife Kim’s military careers have take them and their family around the world. Greg’s life experience and interaction with other cultures has influenced and enhanced his artwork. Notice that most of Greg’s airbrush work is signed “ED.” This is a nickname Greg was given while in the military. The name stuck and the rest is history. Greg would like to thank a few people who were there in the beginning: Dwight Tyler, Brian Jordan, David King, Mike Faulkner and his big brother, the late Terry Lee Edwards.
Greg has been airbrushing since 1994, but has been drawing all his life. Greg and his wife, Kim, graduated from Fern Creek Traditional High School, located in Louisville, Kentucky. While there, Greg received many awards for art. Greg and his family intend to move back to Louisville after Kim retires from the military.
There are only a handful of people in the world that can airbrush at Greg’s level. As you view Greg’s artwork, it is important to focus on detail as well as the skin color of his portraits. Every portrait airbrushed by Greg is done freehand. Greg does not use stencils or mask off any certain area to complete his artwork on motorcycles, cars, canvases or T-shirts.
